Snow Days Revisited
Our family moved from the S.F. Bay Area to the Seattle area because we were searching for a better way of life for our kids. I know, after meeting so many transplanted Californians, we were not alone. We have been happily satisfied with schools, especially the generally great teachers, massive amounts of kids walking to school and that our kids are able to roam the neighborhood only fearful of bears, not strangers. The list goes on. I had a flashback the other day which just reaffirmed we are where we belong. The biggest crime in the town we live is mail theft and hopefully it stays that way. Here, huddled for warmth like rainbow-hued Penguins against the cold, is a line of well-mannered neighborhood kids politely taking turns sliding down the ramp they made.
The ages ranged from 15 years to 2 years and at times 10-12 kids were working together. This reminds me of my childhood in the '70's, which we never see nowadays. Doesn't CG replicant look happy.
Aaah. Snowdays in the great Northwest!
Washington rocks.
