Acceptance

Source: by Joelk75

Sad...

As a mother, this hurts my heart. If any of my three children turn out to be gay which is not looking likely, they still know that nothing will ever, ever change.

I will love them forever.

Can you say the same?

Just in case, please tell them this often. Tell them you accept them for who they are, not what you would wish them to be. This applies to everything about them. Everything.

Please?

It would end so much hurt in this world if there was just a little more acceptance.

The sign on the far right, which reads, "No one is proud of me", damn near broke my heart. These kids are incredibly brave, and I felt very honored to support them.

I cannot fathom choosing not to love your child/any child for what they have no choice over. Terribly sad. Good for them for participating and speaking out.

These kids ARE incredibly brave! But how wonderful that they recognized and acknowledged early in life who they REALLY ARE, rather than live in denial as a hetero and the misery that comes with that for themselves and a spouse (and possibly children).

The day WILL come when gays will no longer be considered "not normal". I happen to live in Fred Phelps country, and his whacko family's protests against gays actually made gays acceptable in our area. (:

Yes. Exactly what you said. And what a wonderful statement for those kids to stand up and make.

I couldn't care less if my boys wind up gay or not. However, the idea of them being religious or Dallas Cowboys fans scares the hell out of me.
