Wow, you really are great with hair. No wonder you do your own. I did have a hankering to see the colorful stripy look, I must say!
Sometimes when we set out to make a change (ie caring for ourselves in a healthier way) the first batch of attempts might tempt (hmmm lots of tempting stuff there) us to head back to the status quo. this is natural.

Kudos for continuing forward, if with faltering footsteps.

Ya know, you'd be much better off going to the Gene Juarez beauty school in Federal Way. The folks there already have their licenses. They go for extra training, and you tell them what you want. You don't spend an arm and a leg, and you have final say before they do anything you don't want.

My sister may take me for my birthday. She is obsessive about my white hair. Go figure

Every embarrassing school photo ever taken of me was a result of getting my haircut at the local salon (since we had no barbershop, I could ride my bike there and they only charged me $8). After a while I realized that letting my classmates, or wrestling coach, or sometimes a girlfriend cut my hair was my best option and that I wouldn't have a permanently fubar yearbook photo every year if I took that avenue.

The reason $$$ salon cuts are terrible is that the staff want to practice the latest styles they've learned, so they say "I suggest we do a Spanish Gliassor on you, you have the perfect bone structure!" and you're like, er no, just two inches off pah-lease... and then they're like "Look! It's beautiful! It's two inches shorter but also very fashionable this season, resembling this new style I just learned on Monday, the Spanish Glissaro!" Urgh.

PB's hair looks lovely. She seems like a TV presenter in the first half of her video. She kind of lost me at the end. ;)

I failed to mention we were coloring her hair at 10:30 PM on a school night because she got this wild hair the night before picture day. Le sigh.

As for fancy salons? Never again. I will stick with my own coloring and perhaps go for the discount hair cut. I do admit, I've been burned there too. However, if I do get scalped, at least I don't have the added guilt of paying hundreds of dollars for the privilege.

I totally learned that lesson about hair too- my husband gave me a gift certificate to a fancy salon a few years ago. Hated the haircut. Love the ones I get for less than $20 at the discount hair places :)
