They never make it into the wash together in pairs. We have long ones, short ones, ones with gray toes and heels, ones with gray soles, ones that have brand names on them in red stitching, some in black stitching. <br />I greatly dislike the socks. The socks mock me. The refuse to mate up. Stupid socks. They sort te laundry and bring it to the washer for me after each load. The biggest issue is that the kids don&#39;t put BOTH socks in their dirty laundry at the same time and the clean ones need to be kept between loads. Then the socks fall behind the washer or get swept away into another basket and the socks will never match up!<br /><br />But putting the kids to work ony makes sense. Kid 2 and 3 have even expressed interest in starting the washer. My 3 and 4 year olds LOVE it. Bean is 18 months and he can almost begin to pair socks. He knows his colors. Soon he will begin to pair socks in the afternoons, and when he is older, he will pair socks in the evening by dimmest lamplight. If there are too many socks, he will pair them until dawn!
